Making Sherbet Fizz!
We are learning about acids and carbonates. Today we made Sherbet Fizz. First we put some icing sugar into a bowl. We tasted it. It tasted sweet. Next we put raro into the bowl and mixed it. We tasted it - it tasted really sweet. Then we put baking soda in. It was sour! Lastly we put some tartaric acid in. It was YUCK! It started to bubble in our mouths! Miss Parton brought some orange juice and we put it in the sherbet fizz. It bubbled and fizzed! The bubbling and fizzing was the carbon dioxide gas. What causes the fizzing in soft drinks?
