Funky Fractions!!


We are learning about fractions.  Miss Parton gave us 1 whole apple.  She asked us how we could we make sure Savannah and Maddison both got an equal share?  George suggested cutting the apple down the middle.  He gave Savannah and Maddison both an equal share of their apple.  As a class we wrote 1/2 + 1/2  = 1 whole.   Is George cutting the apple in the middle?
